IF I buy a Kobo from Japan.....
& I live in the USA Will it work in English?

Also the price is $60 on ebay..... Whats that going to cost me?

Kobo use the same firmware for their devices around they word. No matter where you buy it, you can use any of the supported language. The account you use to setup the device is more important than were the device was sold. And the few limitations this puts on the device can easily be worked around.

Yes your reader will work just fine. If the reader has been factory reset then you'll have the option to chose your language at the beginning. If it's not then you may have to do some trial and error to find the factory reset button but if you have another Kobo handy then it should be easy enough to find.

You can change the UI language whenever you want to. It is on the "Language and dictionaries" page of the settings.

And for people using other languages, this is the third option on the settings page. And the language is the first option on that page.
