Shine with weird software?
Just a curiosity thing, but someone on eBay is selling these Tolino Shines (at least I assume they're Shines), but what's the deal with the software? Was this a "jailbreak" of some kind? I've attached an image.

At least it is a Tolino Shine 1 on the outside. On the lower back of the device on the second picture you can see "Tolino Shine"

As far as "jailbreaking" goes, normally you can just open the android system on a Tolino and install other android apps. So it could be any android reading app but I rellay don't know.

The description show it has Bluetooth - that isn't just a matter of installing different software.

It also claims to have a Lightning connector and , horror of horrors, a LCD screen.

I'm guessing someone hacked these (supposedly there are six of them for sale) with generic Android software and the guy selling the Tolinos hasn't got a clue. Guessing, again, that they could be turned back into generic Shines, but the price doesn't make any sense for this model. A Shine 3 HD wouldn't cost much more.

i dont know why, but this is the price you have to pay anywhere you can buy the Shine 1 in used condition.

There have been a few selling for about $24 (when shipping is added) on eBay. People might like these because they have microSD card slots? There were even some Shine 2 HDs that went for near that price a couple weeks ago. (I was tempted, but resisted.)

Shine 2 HD for about 25$? Depending on the condition, this would be a good deal. The only thing this device is different from the Shine 3 is that it has no yellow light and a different design, so is a bit heavier. The S2HD also has no capacitive layer, so the contrast might be a bit better than on the S3.
