What firmware version, both of you.
Amazon is dropping support for active content documents. But you can start with this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=235859 |

I don't think the deprecation of Active Content Kindlets (Java) will affect ACX widgets (HTML+JS+CSS). Other than that, yeah, a custom ACX is the way to go.
Note: You will need an endpoint for the ACX to lookup data, dsmid set up his own for gtranslator. |

my firmware version: 5.8.2 (PW3)
I managed to jailbreak it as described in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275877 It seems i did it right as I've installed: KUAL, Mr Package Installed and UsbNetwork all from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=225030 and they are working just fine. I've tried to use gtranslator extension as described in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=235859 but it didn't work. Maybe i should leave it at version 5.7.4 ? I suspect the gtranslator server-end component (which dsmid was running) may not be operational anymore...
Because it randomly stopped working for me a while back, too.

I suppose I could put it up on a virtual cloud computer - but so could anyone else with $6/month in their pocket to spend.
