Mordor, Morden, same difference really (heating's down and my fingers're a bit numb

Anyway, I've come here seeking help for a relative with a half-dead e-reader (my kobo works fine, for now... I've just had to check if it REALLY is kobo, it'd be embarrassing if it were something else).

I'm not a Brit, I'm not a Brit!!!! I'm one of them pesky... oh well, this is NOT the place for such rants! I'd better proceed with the problem (remotely) at hand, i.e. how to save a half-dead and certainly overused e-reader :)
