Windows Defender flags 2.71 calibre-file-dialog.exe

Folks,

I just updated to Calibre 2.71 on Windows 10, and Windows Defender flags calibre-file-dialog.exe as Trojan:Win32/Varpes.M!cl. I uploaded it to virusscan.jotti.org, and it was clean except for ClamAV that flagged it as PUA.Win.Packer.SetupExeSection-1.

Does anyone else see this? Any ideas?

@Bookee - I just scanned it with up to date W10 Defender & Malwarebytes, no errors, and VirusTotal gave it 100% green ticks.

I just checked my downloaded copy of 2.71.0 (32bit) installer with my up to date Win10 Defender and it reported the file as clean.

Usually, the first question I see when this comes up is: did you download it from the official Calibre website or some other source? Always best to go the official route.

That said, it seems to me that Calibre periodically gets added to one or another of these virus programs, but after a bit of time, they figure it out and drop it from their list.
