![]() ![]() 1. Zip the audio file You should have audio title.zip 2.Add zip to Calibre by clicking add book Add tag such as audiobooks 3.Create new author virtual library . Name it audiobooks 4To make cover google or generate generic cover. 5.To play click on path. This will bring up file site.Click on zip to open MP3 files. Of course you must have a program on pc to listen to MP3 Last edited by bck0825; 09-27-2016 at 08:37 PM. Reason: change |

Why so complicated.
If its a single MP3 just add it to the library by dropping it into the book list. When you view it (press 'V') calibre will use the default program the OS has configured to open MP3s. BR |

For me too. Too much steps and messing up a book library with huge files. I simply generate a m3u playlist with full path info and attach it as additional format to calibre's book record.

![]() But I don't see how large files 'mess up' a library. My media library is almost 700 GB, the ~9,000 'books' each have video, audio and/or image collection formats, its performance is not noticeably different from that of my other libraries. The files have to go somewhere, and having them in a calibre library makes them accessible via calibre server which I can hook into from other tools like Evernote and Onenote. BR |

![]() Performance within calibre isn't a problem for me too (up to now). I leave big files outside calibre. This works with links perfect for me. (I like calibre very much but to be honest, I can't imagine to manage huge audio, pictures or video content and collections within calibre in a way I like to use it. For these cases I have better solutions - but more often I integrate a "cross over" access via calibre.) |

Here's a trick you might like - you can add a Saved Windows Search (the search criteria) as a book. If you add actual books whose content satisfies the search criteria they will be there when you view the SEARCH_MS format. If you drag the list into the Drop Search Results PI you can easily refresh a Reading List. ![]() BR Last edited by BetterRed; 09-29-2016 at 06:22 AM. |
