Wordcount -- how to append to title (batch)???
In Calibre, is there some relatively non-complex way to append the #word_count field to each title en masse (i.e. batch mode)?
e.g. I would like my "Moby Dick" title field to look like "Moby Dick [395]", indicating there are 395 pages in it. (brackets are not critical) Thanks |

You do not really want to dirty standard fields (in the Library) like this. It breaks many fetchesYou can: Move the columns around so #word is next to title for browsing the list You can use it in any Template when sending: Code:
{title}-[{#word}]

I apologize, I was not clear on this.
I'd like to append the title with the #page_count so that when I convert the files (en masse) to MOBI or AZW3 format and then send them to my Kindle (or any other e-reader) they will show up in the table of contents that way. The idea is that when I scroll down the books in my e-reader, I will know how long each book/document is. I use Calibre to manage thousands of documents, so being able to do this in a "batch mode" is important. I have no experience with Calibre templates nor python and no clue as to how to do something like this. thanks |

Why not use a metadata plugboard to change the title when the book is sent to the device?
