cyrillic support plus new info.

So my main question goes about russian font support. It will not support cyrillic formats from TXT or DOC files off the bat probably, but can you do anything with pdf files?

Ad second thing... I have visited Sony Style store here inCalgary and a salesguy told me that Sony will come out with an update very soon to "unlock" 505 to more ebook retailers online. is it true??? because if it is - I am oredering one, like, 10 minutes ago. till I get Astak 9.7" or iliad ( depends on Astak review).

He actually may be talking about the already recently released firmware update for the 505 which allows you to read Adobe ID protected .PDF files via Adobe Digital Editions support. Many stores sell eBooks in PDF format so you can now get books from more places than the Sony store.

Also, many library (in the U.S. anyway) have Adobe Digital Editions that you can download for free. They have a time limit on them, usually 14 or 21 days, but with the new firmware upgrade you can now read these on the Sony PRS505.

Check out the PRSCustomizer in the 505 Developers subforum here. It adds Cyrillic support. (You also need to drop a few files in the Sony Library folder on your pc for Cyrillic support in the Library app.)
