Messed-up opf entry
My last operation in a Sigil editing session was to split a file. Sigil correctly created Section0001.xhtml below the original file and all seemed well. But Flight Crew flagged an error in content.opf. The entry for Section0001.xhtml had acquired a lengthy, garbage "item id" parameter.
Solution was to re-join the files. |

That tells us nothing about how to fix whatver it was you might have encountered. If you could provide a sample epub or html file that exhibits the problem when spit, that would be great.
By the way, a "lengthy item id" is not in of itself "garbage". Nor should it cause flightcrew to complain. The exact error message that Flightcrew gave would be handy as well. Last edited by DiapDealer; 08-06-2016 at 01:07 PM. |

Yes, please include a copy of the file that was split (privately if need be), its original file name, where you put the split marker, and what the garbage item id looked like. Also, are you on Windows, Mac, or Linux, and which version of Sigil are you using?

The item id of an opf manifest entry for a file created by Sigil during a split should be the same as the file name itself. Which in this instance should have been Section0001.xhtml. Was that not the case?

Yes, I know I need more information. This was just a preliminary enquiry in case someone could say "oh yes, I know what causes that!" It's occasionally happened before. I'll document it properly next time, promise!
