Is there Any Way to Keep Calibre from "Communicating" with my E-reader?
I sometimes want to use Calibre with my e-reader plugged in, or forget to quit Calibre.
Because Calibre uses one style of folder organization, and my e-readers use other styles, there's no point exporting from Calibre to either e-reader. I have to export from Calibre to a transfer folder on my computer and then copy the appropriate parts of the transfer folder to each e-reader. I don't think there's any point indexing either. |

@MarjaE - IIRC I did this, with device plugged in, go to Preferences->Sharing->Ignored devices and check the device, you may have to restart calibre.

Upgrading to Win10 seems to do the trick for some people...

I use a Mac. I used to use Linux, but had hardware accessibility and driver incompatibility trouble.
I use an Iriver Story Hd with an external memory chip, so Calibre would export to the wrong chip, and a Kindle Dx which can't get a stable usb connection. |
