Hi.
My recently published novel Flight of the Ferryman will be available on Amazon for FREE today (19/05) and tomorrow (20/05)

It's a blend of horror and science fiction, set in a claustrophobic environment of funeral spaceship Charon on its way back to Earth. The story revolves around ship's crew, whose cryo sleep had been interrupted by a computer, after it detected a signs of life in ship's morgue.

If you love movies like Alien and The Thing, or games like Dead Space or Alien: Isolation, I hope you might like my book as well.

It's a cool looking cover.

Have you considered working with an editor? Within the first few pages there are typos and awkwardly constructed sentences.

I'm glad you like the cover. It's my creation. I wanted it to look a bit retro (like pulp SciFi covers from 70s and 80s).

I had an editor. Well, it's a bummer, I guess.

Just sent it to my Kindle! Sounds interesting. Will you be putting it in paperback soon? Even when I read on Kindle, I like to have the paperback to put on my shelf.

Yeah, a little. I prefer print copies, but I read on Kindle when either I forget the print book I'm reading or when it just happens to be easier to not take the print book (or of course I get into the eBook). I still like having the print copy to place on a shelf, I like collecting the books I read, something real and tangible.

I read the first chapter in Amazon previewer. Yeah, there's a couple of funny sentences, but really the grammar and style are overall okay, and don't get in the way of the pace of the writing. So I disagree with the previous comment about typos.

I thought the first chapter has pace and so will appeal to readers of this type of story.

Edit: You jump around with POV a lot, and you get away with it. However, at the end of the first chapter you talk about the guy's face going pale and looking like a skull, but at that point you are in his POV, so how does he see his face go pale, etc? That could get you into trouble later on.

You "disagree?" About what? There are at least two typos in the first few pages.
(A missing article near location 24, and a missing comma near 85).
And you seem to have noticed the 'funny' sentences, so what's to disagree with?

Or do you just mean they didn't bother you?

I didn't say they were especially egregious errors, but with the torrent of self-published works available, it's important to make a good first impression.

Probably not soon, but in the future... Who knows?

I'm focused on ebooks right now, but I'm also an avid collector of paperbacks. There's nothing better in the world than the fragrance of an old book.
