Goodreads and Overdrive

I have ask in Goodreads but did not receive an answer that helps.

Is there a way to connect Goodreads and Overdrive? When I look at books on GR I would like to know if that book is available at Overdrive. I use Firefox so the Library Extension app for Chrome is not an option.

You can copy the name of the book and paste it into an Overdrive search.

I know that but is there a way to click a button like GR has for clicking to Amazon or something similar?

Amazon owns Goodreads but a competitor owns OverDrive, so realistically it's not going to happen.

Why can't you use Chrome too?

Actually, there is a way to access a book's OverDrive listing from within Goodreads, although multiple clicks are required:

In Goodreads, under each book's description and metadata, there's a section called "Get a copy".
The last choice in that section is titled "Links".
If you click on "Links", you'll see an option for "Library".
Clicking "Library" takes you to the book's entry in Worldcat.
Logging into Worldcat allows you to see whether or not the book is available at a library you subscribe to.
By selecting the book's ebook or audiobook format, you can check it out from your library via OverDrive (or whatever digital lending platform your library uses).

Because I HATE Google. I have a right to my privacy and Google believes they have the right to put tracking cookies on my computer to determine what I am doing, where I go and everything.

Overdrive is an app for libraries. It is not any type of competition for Amazon.

I know about this but I was looking for something to show if the book is available in libraries I use not all libraries around me. Since I have library cards in different states this really does not help me much.

You could check into chromium and projects based on chromium. Chromium is the open source project that chrome is based upon.

The one time I tried Chromium I could not get it to work. I admit that I do not understand how to use certain software and this was one of them.

That's more hassle than having two tabs open on to Goodreads and one to overdrive.com and copying from GR and pasting to OD.

OverDrive is owned by Rakuten, Kobo's parent company.

Anyway, the links for adding a book from Amazon don't work great in goodreads either, you have to use a link/extension developed by other user too.

So I don't think that competition is the problem.
