Whispersync doesn't work for my Kindle

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to find a solution to this issue but I'm thinking it could be a problem with amazon servers and not with my device.

I don't know when the problem started but I noticed it after I updated to fw 5.8.1.
Just after the update I noticed that the last read position of the book I was reading was lost and all my highlights as well, I don't remember if I turned on WiFi between the time I purchased this book and the time I did the update.
Then I saw that the highlights and notes from Amazon purchased books did not save to kindle.amazon.com, nor did the last read position or bookmarks synced from my Kindle to my android device.

Basically, my Kindle data does not saves to whispersync but data from whispersync syncs to my device. The new "export notes" option doesn't work either.
If I highlight something on a book with the android app next time my kindle syncs I lose all the bookmarks, highlights and notes that I make on the device.

I'm sorry for my awful english. Do you know of any possible solution I could try?

De-register and re-register? That may clear things up.

Export Notes feature does not yet exist on Kindle devices as far as I know we are all still waiting for that. Kindle for iOS, yes, but everything else, no.

I have it on my Kindle when I click GO TO>Notes at the bottom there's an option to export them but it gives me an error.

I already tried to deregister my Kindle. Also switching the Kindle store between countries. :s

Ok...this just gets weirder and weirder. This new feature works fine on my Voyage, even though I can't get the new page flip to work on my Voyage. Page flip works just fine on my Oasis and my PW3, but the export notes feature does not.

Oh well...good thing I can still just read

I just checked the Kindle update page for the latest generation Kindles. The descriptions all say Export Notes feature is there, but at least for my Kindle (7g) and Kindle Paperwhite (7g) that is definitely not the case, even though it states that '5.8.1' is the current version and that is what is on my devices. For the Kindle (8g) I have ordered but not yet received, it says the latest version is '5.8.1.1'. So it is rather confusing.

It is even more confusing for my Fire HD 6, where 'latest version' is a higher number than what I have on the device, yet when I download the update file and try to apply it, I'm told the update is 'older' and no update occurs.

Seems a case where they are updating the descriptions before the updates are actually available for download.

Is there anything in Settings you need to tweak for note export? I think on Kindle it is supposed to send the attachment(s) to the email address associated with your Amazon account, without any configuration. It should just 'work', but obviously it is not.

Maybe you need to have wireless connection to do this? But if so the error should be more specific.

On iOS it launches the Mail app and you can send it from any of the accounts you have set up to any email address.

I don't see anything about exporting notes in the settings and wifi is on.
I think it doesn't work because of the issue I have with notes on my Kindle not saving to kindle.amazon.com
Maybe I could try with a book that has notes synced already.

My Paperwhite (7 gen) started showing Export Notes and new Page View this morning. Export Notes worked for me (though I may prefer to use the iOS Kindle app as it is a little more flexible). The features were not there yesterday, and there was no intervening software update. So it seems to be something they are progressively enabling on Amazon servers somehow.

But my Kindle (7 gen), running same software version, doesn't have these features enabled yet. [Update: Just did a Reset, and features showed up]
