Adding booking in surname, firstname format?
I'm sure I used to have this set up before I had to re-install calibre.
When I add a book I want the folder that calibre creates to be in surname, firstname format. I've looked through the settings and found a checkbox in the add books section of the preferences called swap author firstname and lastname but even after checking this and restarting if I add a book calibre still creates the folder in firstname surname format. Am I missing something? |

You will need to modify the author field of each book, to swap FN LN <->LN, FN
As BetterRed said, there is a tweak to control the default algorithm used to calculate a missing value, or recalculate everything. (It should control both directions.) |

Doh, figured it out.
There is an option in the metadata download section to swap author names, I always download the metadata again when I add new books which is why I thought calibre was doing this for me. |

I manually set the author(s) and title columns, I never download them. BR |
