Friday Blegh

Ok. I guess y'all already know I am having a Bad Week. So, might as well start a thread to allow everybody to post their own private Friday Blegh. What's blegh for you today?

My private blegh: The Olympics. I'm already sick and tired of them. I'm going to studiously ignore the whole thing now.

What are you complaining about? You don't have the BBC's Monkey-inspired trailer thrown at you all the time......

Just about to start two weeks holiday, so I'm afraid there's no Blegh from me (well, until I try to drive home on the Motorway fighting through all the holiday traffic....)

blegh : i was woken up 3 times during the course of my night, and i never managed to get more than 4 hours uninterrupted. now i'm tired and cranky and my head hurts. i took ibuprofen with my coffee but i'm not sure it's helping (yet ?).

i certainly hope next week is better than this week for you, grimo1re.

I'm with you. I shall easily ignore the whole event as I have ignored any tv programs for the last 8 years or more.
I have LOTS of ebooks to read, The forum to check daily, several new audiobooks and many old to hear again, several balls of wool and many unfinished embroidery projects.
I will have no difficulty avoiding the Olympics.
All I need to do is avoid all the people who do watch and want to talk about it.

I agree that the Olympics are Blegh. Luckily the football season starts tomorrow (for the English lower leagues at least). Although the BBC news website now only links to Olympic stories on it's front page and not the sport section in general. It means several more clicks to get to where I want.

Luckily the TV here in bermuda isn't great, so I won't be catching any of the Olympics.

Another Blegh is I have another 8 hours of work today.

And I've got two more weeks of Blegh. I'm stuck working in Bermuda for that time, whilst my wife has now set up home in the UK.

Not a happy bunny me

Amen! Reading eBooks and checking the Forum far surpasses the Olympics with their strung-out commentators desperately trying to make every move, vault, dash, axle, jump etc into absurdly high drama.

Bleary eyed because I stayed up late to finish reading "Fugitives of Chaos".
Grumpy because I'm about to walk into a meeting I don't want to attend.

Can I add another Blegh? (How many Bleghs is one allotted on any single day? Now there's a good question!) Is there such a thing as too cute? I just found the expression (I'm sure it's been around for a while - I just hadn't seen it before) "clicks and mortar". It does neatly sum up bricks-and-mortar *and* electronic presence but sheesh. Too cute, really!

Oh, I love it when people are worse off then me.

Hmmm. That makes me sound awful

I'm really sorry you're having a week from hell, pshrynk. I know what it's like being on call and it really, really sucks. Even if you don't get called, it's the anxiety!

Can I have a blegh or two (is that a mozzle-word?)....

1. The length of time it is taking for my Cybook to reach Bookeen !!!!

2. When paperwork goes missing, by gad it stays missing. We've turned the house upside down, back to front and shaken it all about - and it's still missing...

Pshrynk....take a few deeeeppp breaths....it can only get better....

Oh ... I am so getting on this train!!

1. I've got a corporation to put together and an estate plan to get out (both suddenly emergencies after three or more years);

2. Stupidly, I made an appointment with someone who is coming out to the house to give me an estimate on a pergola (which I don't even know if I need or want ... and that's going to suck an hour and a half out of my day);

3. Kodak didn't put a charging cable into the camera package I purchased. They are sending one "in three to five business days" ... but meanwhile the battery is dead and I can't use the thing.

4. I still have a ton of painting to do (and the finish on the trunk I redid yesterday doesn't look all that great ... first time I've tried rolling on this type of finish ... looks a little lumpy to me).

5. I know there's a bright side somewhere .... it's just not evident today.

6. Oh, we are out of water, and if the Sparkletts guy doesn't show today, I'm going to be sooooo pissed off.
