Problems downloading ADE epub from Google

Has anyone else had a problem recently downloading books from Google? I saw a post on Apprentice Alf's that someone was getting errors downloading so I tried it on a book I bought the other day and I am also getting errors.

I am on vacation with crappy wifi so I tried just downloading the ascm. When I open the ascm I get the E_ADEPT_INTERNAL error. Where I try to open the ascm from Google I get the error E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR. I have ADE 2.01.

I have about $12 in credits for Google play, so if they changed to the hardened drm or something I will not be happy.

I've just tried it here in the UK and I'm getting the same error. I did try it on one of my previously bought books and it worked ok.

I didn't try one of my previous books. If the old ones work and new ones don't that's troubling.

From what I gathered from the Adobe forum, it's a widespread problem recently and not only with the old versions of ADE, but the newest ADE as well. Nobody seems to know if Google messed up, or Adobe, or both.

Last time I downloaded from Google, I used ADE 2.0.1 and it worked. If I need a newer version, no more buying from Google.

I just downloaded the .acsm file from Google Play again, and managed to download and open the actual book in ADE. So it seems that someone has fixed the problem (for now). I use ADE 2.0.1.

Yep looks like its been fixed. I just did the same with the book that failed yesterday, and it works fine now. I too am using ADE 2.0.1.

ADE 2.01. The XP of e-reading software

Glad to hear that it's fixed. That keeps Google Books open as an option, though I've never bought something there. (Most of the time, another store was cheaper, but most have gone out of business...)

The ascm I downloaded yesterday still didn't work this morning, but I downloaded a new copy and it worked.
