Aura HD frozen

I finished reading a book and went to delete it (from the collection and the ereader) and the screen froze.

It's been like that for 18 hours. If I connect it to my laptop nothing happens on the Kobo and the laptop doesn't find a device.

The little reset hole thingy doesn't do anything because I've tried it so many times over the life of the device that it seems to be broken.

Help! What do I do?

Is the LED blinked rapidly when connecting to PC or the using the paperclip button?

Post a picture of the screen.

Nothing's flashing (battery is about 75%).
Like I said, the paperclip button no longer works.

If the only problem is that the pinhole button dosn't work then you should be able to reset the device by holding the power button/slider for about 20 seconds until the device turns off, and then turning it on again in the usual way.

That doesn't work either.

Open the back cover and disconnect and reconnect the battery, but charge the device for 30min first.

But first, post a photo. A lot of "frozen" screens are broken screens. Could save you some mucking around.

I can't figure out how to attach a photo of the screen here.

It looks perfectly normal, except that the dialogue box is there, with the 'remove from' dialogue box in the centre of the screen, over the previous screen.

And if you're just using the Quick Reply box, click on "Go Advanced" first under the box to get to the "Manage Attachments".

My husband has taken the Kobo apart and discovered a broken connector.

I've bought a new device.
