				Battery Indicator

Hello all, My battery indicator doesn't show full. The following is right after I unplugged it. Is this normal or is my Voyage not charging fully? Thanks for your help Sorry if this has been discussed before. |

Probably just means that the battery gauge isn't properly calibrated. Let it discharge down to the "low battery" warning next time before you recharge it. That will recalibrate the gauge.

I have 4 lighted e-ink Kindles, a Voyage and each generation of the Paperwhite, and all 4 of them do that and have since they were new. Barry |

It's definitely a calibration issue. The battery gauge on my Voyage fills right up to the top (or the right, rather).

My Voyage does the same, every time I charge. I tried different chargers, I tried running down til i got the message. Still the same. Once or twice I might have gotten what almost looked like full, but as soon as I use it for like 2 minutes, its back to missing a chunk. Been doing this pretty much since I had it, over a year now. Wow, I had this thing for 13 months. Where the heck did the time go It bugs me too a bit I have to say. Just cause I want full when its full. Hasn't caused any issues. I have to charge every other day anyway. The new update seems to also cause a bit more battery use. But I also read a lot and always have wifi on. I actually just unplugged mine from the charger and I think its almost full. Its still a tad more white on the right than the left and in a while it will go to the next chunk fast and then go more normal. Maybe one of these days I'll let it run down again. But I am a bit OCD about not getting to low on it. Can't explain it, I just don't like it. I start obsessively tap the top to see where I am at when I get to low and then I can't concentrate on my book. |

Same thing happens to me. I plugged it for 6 hours and after unplugging the charging cable there is some white space from the right side of the battery indicator. I think it's normal? Bc even with El_top50s picture the white between the left and right side of the battery isn't the same. I'm glad to know it's just not my kindle.

Here are pics from my kindle after a full recharge from the same pics. Also what I noticed was that if I charged it overnight, the battery indicator actually loses more charge (I think to protect from overcharging?-Kind of like iphones where if you charge it for a long time, the battery goes from 100% down to 96% even though plugged in to prevent overcharge). Just something I noticed. But the pics were taken right a few minutes after it turned green. Hope it helpS!
