Calibre Portable question

Hi All -

I've been running an extensive collection with Calibre on my desktop for a couple of years. I now need a portable version for travel.

I've downloaded Calibre Portable to a thumb drive, and I'm not sure of next steps.


Do I use the tool bar on the Portable Version on the flash drive to access the library? Or the tool bar from the Desktop Calibre?

Do I go to "Calibre" , "Switch / Create Library" "Use the previous existing library at the new location" ?

Thanks - I've put in a lot of time organizing the metadata, and (1) don't want to lose it on my hard drive and (2) would like in to appear in Portable with the same organization.

You said Download to thumb drive.
I hope you Installed (usingthe installer) it to the thumb drive.


Desktop Version icons are for the Desktop Version ONLY
Portable Version Icons are for Portable.

The Libraries can be anywhere, But If you want one to be DEFAULT in Portable, then it needs to be ON the Portable drive AND alongside (same folder that has) Calibre Library folder (NOT INSIDE)
