Android app to read epub without importing into library?

I have a device with not a lot of room in storage but a micro SD card I can keep my books on. I have quite a few books on the card but to look them over to decide my next book I have to import the book into Moon+, which puts it in main storage, look it over and then remove it if it's not what I want to read. That makes it impractical to browse and sample. It's just too much work.

What I'd like is some kind of epub app that simply let's me quickly load the book and then let's me terminate the book without the bother of removing it, etc. I used to do that on my PC in the Palm days using DocReader. Now I'd like to do it on this device but I haven't been able to find an app that simply let's me load the book and then forgets it when I'm done.

If anybody can suggest an app that will do this I'd be appreciative. I don't care what features it has. Actually I'd prefer it didn't do much of anything except let me look at the book quickly and easily.

Thanks for any tips.

Barry

Not 100% sure, but FBReader and Coolreader should do what you want. Bookari (the new name for mantano) adds books to its library, but only as a reference to the real location. But doesn't moonreader work the same? At least I don't find a folder with books in another location than calibre companion on my device and I use both.

well, what a lot of us do is store the books on a pc, using calibre

I then browse calibre via a webpage, and just download the book I want to read from there, and import it into moon+

really tho, epubs are so tiny, I'm not sure why you'd be concerned about importing a few extra at a time? (even a couple hundred at a time isn't a lot of space)

Moon+ Reader does this. You just need to add your books folder to the library, and scan.

Are you sure Moon+ doesn't import the book when you open it? I thought it did.

And Tikker, I realize epubs are small, but if it imports each book over a period of time I'll have a lot accumulated. The way I use Moon+ is to import a book when I'm going to read it and remove it when I'm done. That's quick and simple. But between each book I might look at 20 or 30 other books before I decide on one. Not always, but often enough that I'd have to start paying attention to cleaning up Moon+ fairly often.

I guess what I'm saying is just import your top 30 choices, then once you're thru those, get more

Turns out I was mistaken about Moon+ not letting me take a look at a book without importing it. I'm not sure why I thought it didn't but it does and it answers my question.

Thanks,
Barry
