sticky hyphen
I can't seem to find anything in the online manual or by Googling the subject that enables me to get a non-breaking or sticky hyphen, as when for example I want to speak of an F-105 aircraft, so that F- doesn't appear on one line and 105 on the next. Can this be done, and will it carry through to Kindle and to (some or most) epub readers? Thanks!

Seems to work in Sigil's Book View/Preview, but there's no guarantee that the Kindle conversion or any rendering system will honor it. There's no guarantee that a rendering system's font will even include the glyph. |

Your query intrigued me and off I went in "distracted mode" to see what the answer was. Amazingly a "sticky-hyphen" is non-standard? Of the solutions I found, this seems to work
F-105. Another favoured solution seemed to be to use ‑ I am not going to use that, as F‑105 does not show up in a search for "F-105" whereas the span solution allows the correct search result. Not sure if that will help you, but it helped me! |

Thank you! I'll give it a try, though I fear it will add quite a bit to the weight of the epub.
I'll also try a Kindle mobi consisting of nothing but aircraft designations with ‑ incorporated and see if they survive the conversion. |
