Calibre not recognising Kobo Device

Have had Calibre on my Vista Home Premium OS for some time - using it with Kobo Touch - and never a broblem. Even when I got a new Kobo Touch it still recognised it immediately.
I now have new Kobo Aura but Calibre does not recognise it and there is no 'Send to Device' icon on toolbar. I updated Calibre to try an make sure it dealt with Aura.
My compouter itself recognises the Aura but not Calibre. There are no Ignored evices showing nor any Disabled Plug-ins. The listed Kobo Plug-ins are Kobo Reader Device 2.08 and Kobo Touch 2.08, communicating with Aura... etc. Have also debugged Device Detection in an attempt to sort it.
Will I have to uninstall Calibre and reinstall in the hope it then recognises new device as I can't see any way to tell Calibre I have changed devices.

Any ideas ??

Upgrade the version of calibre you are running. Support for the Kobo Aura was added in version 2.1.2 of the plugins. That was done in September 2013, which was before calibre 2.0 came out. I recommend updating to the current version of calibre. If you can't for some reason (running XP or one of the other older OSes) then upgrade to at least version 1.48.

Top man. Thanks for quick response. Being a computer 'numpty' do I have to uninstall the current Calibre programme and then download it again - or is there a simpler way so I don't lose all the books I currently have within the Calibre programme.

Just download and install the latest version in order to update.

Note that even uninstalling calibre entirely would not touch your library.
(Unless you used something like RevoUninstaller, a technical tool designed to do a deep trace of your computer to delete things that an uninstall doesn't normally remove. But that is rather an exceptional case, and I doubt you intended to do that...
