Impossible open with calibre

Hello guys i'm new in this forum,
i've downloaded an epub that i can read easily on my macbook with the software "ibook" but when i try to open it in calibre to convert it in mobi for my kindle pw3 i can't open it. I've tryed to remove DRM even if i'm not sure it is related.
How can i do?

Can you be slightly more descriptive than "I can't open it"?

Because I know you can open books, in general, with calibre -- so there has to be more than that.

You already said in post #1 that "I can't ____"... but the fact that you "can't" tells us NOTHING helpful.

If "I can't ____" was enough information to know why you "can't", then it would've been fixed a long time ago, because it is supposed to work...

What have you tried? (Did you import it into your library; are you trying to use the builtin View feature?) Did you see any error dialogs? (If so, what did they say?)

Maybe read How To Ask Questions The Smart Way; take particular note of the section on "Be precise and informative about your problem".

If it was purchased through iBooks and won't open with the Calibre reader (or other software besides iBooks) then it likely has Apple's "Fairplay" DRM attached.

I don't really know anything about removing Apple's DRM. There used to be software called Requiem that required an old version of iTunes to work and I'm told there is currently some commercial software that works, but I don't know the name. Of course forum rules here prohibit detailed discussion of DRM removal, but maybe someone on Apprentice Alf's blog would know the current methods, if any, for removing iBooks/Fairplay DRM.
