Help needed with Calibre view

Hi

Can someone please help with this problem I have with Calibre 'View', please?
On my PC (win7) if I click on an authors name in the Calibre left-hand column, then that author's books (and no others) appear in the centre window, which is how I want it.

I've just installed Calibre on a friend's PC (Win7) and when I click on an author's name in the left-hand column, the main, centre window shows a list of ALL books in the library, with the chosen author's books highlighted in the list.

How can I get his display to look like mine?
