Kindle app & PDF lookup

I can't lookup words for PDF books in my kindle app (android) , but it's ok for kindle books
I did sideload and tried "send to kindle" but nothing changed
am I doing something wrong? cause I know it's possible to loojup words for PDF in kindle paperwhite and voyage
by the way, I don't want to convert them, results are terrible
I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me

Long press the word might work.
Second question: where did you get the PDFs?
Some pdfs are all images depending on how they were scanned.

Oh and if you are on an Android, there are much better reader apps for PDFs.
I like moon+ and UB reader.

I'm afraid you didn't read my question carefully
that question was for kindle app (android), and just for PDFs
yes, I also use moon+ and I can select text and lookup words as well on PDFs
but I can't do those on the same PDF in kindle app
the question is: why? am I doing something wrong?

My question was where did you get these pdfs?
Is it all your pdfs or just some of them?

It could be the app or it could be the pdfs.
If it is every pdf, I would say app can't do it.
If it is just some pdfs, I would say it is how the pdf was done.

So again, are these scanned pdfs?

Not all pdfs are created equal.
