Frozen on "Low battery level", impossible to start

Hello everybody,

I have my Kobo Aura for more than 2 years, I upgraded the firmware normally with wifi (including in January 16'). No issue up to yesterday.

Now it's frozen with "Low battery level" message ("0% remaining"). I tried everything:
- load it for several hours on USB port on my computer, with wall charger
- push the light button and try to turn it on
- push the reset button with a paperclip
- a lot of combination of these solutions

Nothing happens, still blocked on this screen. Any idea?

Thank you!

Have you tried a different USB cable?

Some people had similar problem, and they solved it by disconnecting battery. After some time you connect battery again and then recharge.

But, problem is how to reach battery, usually it's not that simple.

Hello,

I finally solved it, but no idea how. Quite pissed off, I just frenetically pushed every button, while moving the USB cable... And it started charging again.

I had tried before every button combination, the same cable and the same charger, without result.

Important is: it's solved...

That is perhaps the secret. Have you looked for dust/lint blobs in the socket? Whenever I've had charging problems that's been the cause.

It can be that battery discharged sufficiently that it allowed restart of the device. Disconnecting battery I suggested does this, removes power source so you can start from start.
