Aura H2O USB connection with application running?

I have an application running in the H2O browser and I'd like to be able to write a file to the reader while the browser is running. However as soon as you connect to another computer via usb the applications stop and you get the black screen the says "Connected and Charged".

Has anyone looked at keeping the reader applications going while connected to a computer via usb?

I've noticed some usb networking add-ons here but I'm not sure if the applications can function while networked or if it behaves the same way.

Just remember that when the USB connection is made, the partition /mnt/onboard is demounted from the device and made available to the USB host; as was discovered wirh some of the other mods for Kobo if this dismount is NOT done, you risk a very VERY high probability of the Sqlite database on the device being corrupted.

This has led to some of the mods placing files on the root partition as opposed to the filesystem seen via the USB connection.

Why not connect through WiFi to get files? You can install an FTP server or use my WebPortal's FileManager to download/upload stuff from the reader through the PC-webbrowser

You can run stuff while the Kobo is connected to PC, my AutoShelf mod does that - while it's connected to PC you can enable/disable AutoShelf by touching the screen.

Getting the kobo browser to run while a PC connection is active may not be easy to achieve though

To answer this question: applications like nickel do run normally when you have usbnet enabled.

I have a web application running a local file. I would like to update a local javascript data file over the usb cable. I'm doing this where there is no WiFi hotspot available.
