Metadata from filename AND from the file metadata

Few years ago I have asked about reading metadata while adding a book but at that time calibre has no custom columns.

Now Calibre has them and I submit the same question again:

Is it now possible to read metadata from a file and, at the same time, parsing metadata from filename to a custom column ?

Still no

If you need to use Filenameduring add,
follow up (stepping by book) using the brown book icon in the metadata editor

Open the Metadata editor, select the origional format (usually Epub).
Click the brown book

Note this only works (for more metadata) if you have NOT Polished,or done something else that would have caused the Library copy of the book to be updated

Nope, someone just asked the same in the last few days.

Really, it should not take long. stepping the metadata editor using NEXT

Start with a Search so you have a list of JUST those that are in need.

Start at the top.
Tap E to enter the MDE
select EPUB
Click the Brown book
Click Next
(repeat)

I can easily do 3 per minute if I am willing to accept all metadata (Note any Bulk mode would not give yo a chance to reject

Thanks for the answer but it is not what I need.
When you add a giant directory it would take really a lot.

It should be possible to apply bot the "read from file metadata" and then "read from filename" method. During book adding and this problem should solve.

The second method should clear and overwrite the field filled by the previous method.
