Amazon Gift Cards Now Available in Canada

I don't know when this happened, but Amazon Gift Cards now available to purchase in Canada in Shoppers Drug Mart. I do not know if Amazon Gift Cards are available in other retail stores.

For many years, Amazon have not made their Gift Cards available in Canadian retail stores. Only way to get the Gift Cards is Amazon online.

This is great way for people to buy Kindle books without using a Credit Card.

You can also try your regular bank debit card to avoid credit cards. Mine indicates that it's a Visa Debit Card, which I entered as a Visa card and purchases come right out of my bank account. Super handy.

I've been buying them from PC Supermarkets, (Value-Mart, Zehrs,, god knows how many others, bout about half of grocery stores in Canada) since last year. I Find it odd that they never seem to have made it to more 'usual' gift card kiosks. Especially odd that they aren't available from Stpales, even though staples sells Kindles (sometimes.)

Have you tried using it though to buy books? My understanding is that they don't work to purchase ebooks on Amazon even with a .CA account. I read it on their own site last Christmas, 2014 because I wanted to buy one as a gift for someone.

There are reviews on the site for the product that states the gift cards don't work for ebooks - only goods. Customer Service even told me the same thing, goods only, no ebooks.

If you've bought books using the cards on a .CA account please do let us know. I'd love the option as gifts for people.
