Calibre portable 2.50 issue
Hi,
I've just upgraded my portable installation from version 2.0 to 2.50 (last version, yes I've missed version from 2.00 to 2.50.. ![]() The problem is that the last version doesn't recognize my Nook simple touch. It's not a pc related problem because 2.0 version it's ok. Some tips ? I use a windows based PC with version 8.1 installed. Thanks |

And the debug log clearly states the answer is 2.50.1 @unvisigoth The debug log says it cannot find a drive letter for your Nook. |

This is the same issue as https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=270397 (device being a composite device and the main usb interface not being the first one reported to windows). You will have to wait for the next calibre release, in the meantime, downgrade to 2.49

Right. Thanks. 2.49 works. So to understand. It's seen as composite device because has a sd card inside ?
Thanks a lot again |

No, it is seen as a composite device because it is exporting itself as one. That typically happens for usb devices that have multiple roles, say as a disk and as a keyboard. I have no idea why some ebook reader manufacturers decided to do that, there is no need for it.
