Kindle Paperwhite very slow!
Hi all,
Apologies if this has been discussed before but over the last couple of months I have been experiencing a very laggy system on my Paperwhite (6th Gen) and page turns can take around a couple of seconds which is really frustrating and I don't know why! I haven't done/been advised of an update for some time now; do I have to manually do one and is this Also, I've heard about re-booting by pressing the on button for 30 seconds which can sometimes help, but does this remove my current books and collections? |

Yes rebooting is always a good first step. No, it does not erase anything.
It is just like restarting a computer. A factory reset is what erases all the data. And that is a different process. You can reboot without any fears. |

The most common cause of such performance issues is that one or more books have got stuck indexing. Go to the home screen, tap the "Search" button, and enter a string of random characters to search for. When the search results are returned, go to the "Text in Books" page of the search results and see if it says "XX items not yet indexed".
