Adding Book Issues - Help!!

I am having a new issue with Calibre when I add books. No matter the book I choose to add, the book The Martian gets added. I have deleted this book from my computer but it still does this. Has anyone else had this problem?

@Bakercarry - have a look at the regex in Preferences->Add Books->Configure metadata from file name

I have the same problem!! I went to the Preferences area you listed and unchecked "Read from file contents rather from file name". This imported the book with the correct title, but when I open it to read it, it is STILL the other book (and not the book I am importing). Help!

dcardon53 - when adding calibre gets the metadata either from the file name according to the template, or from the metadata that's is embedded inside the book - which is not necessarily what's 'printed' when you view the book.

Its not unknown for a book to have one thing written on the tin and something completely different in the tin - in which case you will have to complain to your book supplier.
