Kindle files on a sony 500
Title says it all. Is there a way to view kindle files on my sonny 500? I REALLY dont have the 300 bucks for a new reader but want all the books/papers/mags that are available.

Nope. Not if the books/papers/mags are purchased from the Amazon Kindle store. They are only readable on the Kindle. In fact, you can't even purchase them without a Kindle registered to your Amazon account.

If you don't buy a Kindle, Amazon won't sell you any Kindle ebooks. So whether you can convert the files is irrelevant.

flemgunner--You might want to check out the "fetch news" feature of calibre. Lots of newspapers, etc. there that you can download for free for use on your Sony.

The question is meaningless, given that you can't buy anything from the Kindle store unless you own a Kindle .
