Battery Life declining - No Product support

Hello all,

I own a May 2013 Glo, but now the battery is draining very fast. I'd say a few hours while reading and a few days in standby. I'll post the exchange I've had with official Kobo support but basicly, there is none. No fix available.

I hereby, post the exchange (In French)

À Kobo
Bonjour,
Nous nous comprenons mal.
Je ne parle pas de garantie, je parle de service après vente payant. Comment, et à quel endroit faire réparer cet appareil ?

Try replacing the battery.
the glo battery specs 1200mah 3.7v 4.44wh.
in ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/181345368586...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Size: 5.0mm(H)* 45mm(W)* 62mm(H) 3.7V 1500mAh

EDIT:To install the new battery you need to cut the wire of the old battery (recommended in half the length), and solder and isolate the wire to the new battery, so you can use the connector.

Noted that size of gap in the board that the battery is place in is 64 mm*54 mm, and the thickness of the battery is 3 mm so maybe so 5 mm thickness might by a problem.
and the battery is glued or taped to the aluminum back plat so you might need to dismantle the board, to remove the old battery.

You might try working some solvent saturated dental floss under the battery.

Luck;

Try a factory reset and go from there.

Already tried. Even when pristine after Factory reset, without any sideloaded book.

Are you sure the new battery is actually new? Is WiFi off?

Sorry to ear it didn't work.
Do you turn off device at night or put it in sleeping mode?
how match of reading hours you get form one fully charge?

Try fully charge after battery empty 0% for 1-2 times, and don't charge in between.

I forgot that the battery meter might need calibration. Good catch.

How long do you read a day?
Most e-ink batteries are good for either 15 hours or 30 hours of actual read time.
Note the battery life they say is based on 30 minutes of reading a day.

Reading time, takes little to no power to maintain display of page for slow reader. Number of page turns is better way to measure battery drain with full page refresh using a little more power from battery.
