Hi all
i have been using calibre to send documents in mobi format to my kindle paperwhite with no trouble for some time and now suddenly they are all coming up with the message failed to send and in the job description on Calibre it is an 'authentication failed' problem any ideas anyone? |

You will need to post an actual error message, not paraphrasing.
I am guessing that you are using Gmail and you need to enable less secure apps. For the record, Google is lying about them being less secure just because they don't use Google's particular brand of security. ![]() There are many respected applications that Google claims are "less secure", calibre is one of them. ... Last I checked, Gmail lies and says you have an invalid password even when "less secure apps" is the real problem. |

thanks for that the actual error message is as follows

Hi again
finally cracked it - i ad changed, due to a microsoft alert, my hotmail password and had not altered it in Calibre preferences All done and now working - i may try changing a lightbulb next!! |
