Perhaps it would be more helpful if you specified which of the many potentially possible errors you are seeing...

Also, please update to the latest version of calibre.
It is best to make sure the error has not already been fixed in a subsequent release, before posting problems.

Since it's a fatal error Calibre crashes and Windows helpfully closes it. I can't see what causes it or any error. There are probably error logs somewhere.

I have now updated to the latest version and I'll see what happens the next time I add/convert books.
