Moon+ Reader Pro issues...

I have already purchased the Pro version after some testing. Thought things would work great. Sadly I was proven wrong.

Importing a handful of titles has shown some issues I can't seem to resolve on my own or find a solution online yet.

Titles do not import always as I have specified them in Calibre and only one out of the six or so books show the cover art. Never had any issues with syncing them to my Kindle PaperWhite. Setup right now is using Bittorrent Sync to selectively sync MOBI files of the books I want to have on my tablet. Moon+ is setup to auto import (I've tried manually). Import works great but the above issues are cropping up.

Anyone else experience this and have a solution?

Thanks!

I have Moon+ Reader Pro and all the ebooks (25+) have imported fine. The covers come in fine, IF the cover is properly specified in the EPUB file. (Since I'm writing my own software to generate EPUB files from MultiMarkdown I had to learn a lot about it. It's free software if you want a copy.) However if you are searching for the covers online (because it's not part of the EPUB) there is no guarantee Moon Reader will find it.

Go to http://validator.idpf.org/ and upload your EPUB files that do not have cover art. If it doesn't pass the test, it's not a valid EPUB.

As a highly experienced computer programmer I say you should keep this in mind: Most publishers do no know what they are doing when they convert books to EPUB. They are likely not hiring computer people to do the conversion as I've come across 5+ EPUB books (where the paper version was by an experienced author) with many errors in spelling.

I also have a theory that some illegal EPUB files are being created by kids from a PDF, using OCR software, and the EPUBs also contain a lot of errors.

Thank you for the information. Trying to stick with MOBI files but maybe EPUB is the way to go. Will test EPUB files with my setup to see if the file type is the problem here.

Resolved this by moving to EPUB file types.

I don't have a Github repo for Mkepub right now. I just have it as a zip file on Dropbox. The current version of the zip file is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cl63yxhpxq...k100a.zip?dl=0.
