				Creating sub-library

			Hello all!

New here, and not so experienced with Calibre. What I want to do: export to a folder part of an existing Calibre library to create a new library. I did that with the "Save to disk" command (after selecting the relevant books), and all the folders with the books, the covers and the .opf/XML files are there, but I also need the database and .json files for this set of books. So: – is there perhaps a more relevant "export" command, which would also create the database? – or can I recreate said database just from the exported folders? – or should I, of course working on a copy of the original library, delete the unnecessary books to get the slimmed new Calibre library? ![]() Thanks for your kind help! And thanks to the Calibre creator! |

FIRST you need to Make an Empty Library: Switch-Create: <select a new location>: Create an empty...: Tick 'Copy Structure':< Give it a name> once that is done, Quick switch to the original Now do the copy to Library gig Last edited by theducks; 12-19-2015 at 08:56 PM. Reason: fix typos |
