Nexus 9 running Android 6.0.1 & Calibre 2.4.7

Hopefully, someone will point me in the right direction:

1) Calibre 2.4.7, running under Win10, cannot see the single book downloaded from Kindle Store. The Nexus 9 is recognised...

2) Calibre Library books appear to be loaded into N-9 main memory but Kindle reader cannot see them and neither can Aldiko. Aldiko cannot find the Kindle book either.

A Nexus 7 running the same version of Android and Kindle App reads all books without any problems whether they come from Kindle Store or Calibre Library.

What am I missing, please?

1) You cannot transfer Kindle for Android books to calibre, use Kindle for PC instead: http://amazon.com/kindlepcdownload

2) Are they the same book files on both devices? The Kindle app won't see books unless they are in AZW, MOBI, or AZW3 format. And I am pretty sure Aldiko doesn't handle Kindle books.

Thanks! That was just enough to get me to rtfm(s) and jog the few remaining grey cells!

Happy to help, I guess.

If the answer turned out not to be what I suggested, feel free to share your solution, it might be helpful to future googlers.
