The Jules Verne Digest (Complete Collection) KOBO -free

Kobo

A NDAS "Digest" edition. The complete 36 English translated fiction novels of Jules Verne converted for easy reading by cross-platform ebook / ePUB standards. Organized alphabetically for quicker navigation, a master table of contents leads you to specific tables of contents for each included work. This volume includes:
An Antarctic Mystery
Around the World in Eighty Days
Eight Hundred Leagues on the Amazon (Books 1 & 2)
Five Weeks in a Balloon
Hector Servadac (Into the Sun & Off on a Comet)
A Journey to the Interior of the Earth
The Mysterious Island (Books 1, 2, & 3)
A Trip to the Moon and Around It (Books 1 & 2)
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas (Books 1 & 2)
...and 22 others
Also included is the codex listing of all works in Verne's "Voyages Extraordinaires" to show the position of each included book. All NDAS "Digests" are intended for personal use but are applicable to scholastic needs as well.

Sounds good. It is a bit large at just over 6 MB but not too large. Probably not illustrated of course.

If you want the definitive version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, get it from Baen. It's better translated and it has all the missing parts back in.

http://www.baenebooks.com/p-2055-200...r-the-sea.aspx

Features 26 unique illustrations by Ron Miller including cutaway views and schematics of the Natuilus, accurate maps, and details of Verne’s diving suits
Includes appendices, annotations, and other additional information by editor Ron Miller
Now with an Historical Afterword by Ron Miller
Unabridged version

Featured in Ron Miller’s “The Conquest of Space Book Series.” This special edition of Jules Verne's classic novel corrects more than 3000 errors in the original 1872 English translation and replaces the 23% of text that had been expurgated by the original translator for political, ideological and other reasons.

Yes, many of the well-known English translations of Verne's books are more "rewrites" than translations. Another one is "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", where the best-known English version is radically different to the original in almost every way. An accurate translation of it can be found in my upload "Journey to the Interior of the Earth" here in the MR library.

Oh, goody, almost a third more of that incredible tedium!

Seriously, sounds like a must for the Verne fans.

I have heard that not all 'translations' are equal. And some people do want seperate books rather than a collection but if you want one it is good to be able to find such. And you can't beat the price. I also put together a collection of Verne's works here at MR.

The Edgar rice Burroughs collection isn't complete. Only 8 of the Tarzan books are included. There are some 24 total.

One of the curiosities here is that Baenebooks search for Jules Verne won't find it (it's under Ron Miller).
