Free (Kindle/iTunes) Stalking Sapphire [Debutante Serial Killer Hunter Mystery]

Stalking Sapphire by Mia Thompson is the 1st in her Sapphire Dubois New Adult mystery/thriller series (may contain f/m romantic elements) starring the eponymous debutante secretly turned serial killer hunter, this installment putting stress on her double life as one of her targets turns out to know both her socialite heiress and vigilante identities, as meanwhile she has to work around the police protection on herself, free courtesy of publisher Diversion Books.

Apparently, this is being made free to promote the newly-released 3rd-in-series, which I will remind you is couponable at Kobo as all Diversion Books are, and will probably be fairly low-priced anyway, as Diversion Books usually are, if you happen to turn out to like this one enough to pick up the rest.

Also, one of the blurb-quoted reviewers likens Sapphire to "a 'Dexter' of the debutante set". It's quite possible that they just didn't get the point of the actual Dexter books or TV series, but I admit it would be a lot more interesting if Sapphire turned out to herself be a secret serial killer masquerading as an innocent debutante while stalking and killing other serial killers.

Currently free @ iTunes (available to Canadians and pretty much most places worldwide, as Diversion freebies often are). Slated to drop @ Amazon (usually available to Canadians & in the UK and many other locales), as Diversion freebies have done for the past couple of years. If not, using the Report a Lower Price function should match it eventually.

Also, it's available as a free read online @ Wattpad (free registration required), as some sort of book club thing they did a while back, if you happen to want to read the ensuing group discussion notes and the author's own responses to reader questions.

Because it's nice to see Diversion offering freebies again after well over a month's hiatus, and this does look like it has a moderately novel and interesting premise compared to the more typical cozy and/or amateur sleuth and/or police procedural vs serial killer thrillers that we get, and I will cheerfully assign it extra bonus points if she really does turn out to be a "Dexter"-like debutante herself. <-- I guess this is the closest we get to having a stabbity smiley?

Huh. They actually changed the ASIN for the freebie-ization, although the reviews still exist for the original even though the actual corresponding ebook is now a 404 page. That's weird.
