Feature Request: auto-close CC after opening a book

Hi,

Like many I use CC as my device's library shelf. With the tapping behaviour opening a title with a short tap. Would it be possible to add the option to auto-close CC just after the title has been opened by the external application? So that when I quit reading the e-book and close the e-reader application I don't have to immediately close another application. There's absolutely no justification for this request other than that I'm lazy and it adds that extra polish to the experience.

Thanks for considering my petty, ungrateful and entirely unreasonable demand.

I will consider it, but given that it is so unreasonable ... That said, I am not sure that closing CC would do what you want. What really needs to happen is to empty the "back button stack". My mind is too slow at the moment to remember whether closing an app does that.

The desktop widgets give you this behavior today. Using one of them would permit you to avoid the second close on all "read" requests other than the first one.

Rather than closing your reader apps, wouldn't it make more sense to just hit the home button to go back to the home screen?

Both your Nook and your Samsung have dedicated home buttons, so that is going to be less effort for you, and there really is no advantage to closing your reader app rather than just exiting to the home screen.

The AlReader has a neat feature that allows you to assign commands to areas of the screen. I have chosen a tap at the top to open the index, a tap in centre to toggle the fullscreen, and a tap at the bottom to quit. With one tap I can close the application. Simple and elegant. As I said, there's really no justification for this feature other than that it adds a little extra polish.
