Sony reader app for android?

ok, so I'm old! and have never had a tablet. I received an old hand-me-down Android tablet. I probably wouldn't use it for reading much, as I prefer to read on e-ink, but in case I wanted to, how would I get an app now that the Sony store no longer exits? Will the Kobo app let me read books that are in my Sony Reader for PC software?

Sony used to have a tablet app, but every since they shut down their ebook store, it disappeared. You're out of luck, I'm afraid. :|

If your books are in ePub format, you should be able to use any Android reader app that can read secure/encrypted ePub files (e.g. Bluefire Reader, etc,) that is available for your version of Android.

If your books are in the older proprietary Sony LRX format, and you never re-downloaded them in ePub format you're probably out of luck, as noted above.

No, but if you transferred your library to Kobo when Sony closed up you'd be able to download them to the Kobo app from your Kobo library.

If the books in your Sony Reader PC software are in DRM-ePub then you can use any ePub reader app that supports Adobe DRM'd ePub such as Mantano. BlueFire or Aldiko. If you've removed the DRM you can use any of those or also any other ePub readers such as Moon+, FB Reader, AIReader, etc. (also the Kobo app will read non-DRM'd ePub). If your books are in the older LRX nothing I'm aware of will work.

I did transfer my Sony books to Kobo when the Sony store shut down, but I have bought books from some other stores since then. Thank you for the suggestion of some other ereader apps that I might use. I wouldn't want to read on the tablet on a regular basis but it would be nice to have the option.

I didn't own an ereader back in the LRX days so no worries there!
