Plugboards for description field?

I would like to be able to update the description field when sending a book to device.

The idea is that when I go to the "View details" page in my Kobo device, I want to add information from my custom columns to the description so they'll show up in the synopsis there.

This seems like a plugboard type of thing, but description doesn't seem to appear as a destination field option. Is there a way to do this?

IIRC plugboards cannot write to comments although chaley will have to confirm.

Not with plugboards unless you can use one of the supported destination fields to show the info on your kobo. The supported fields are 'authors', 'author_sort', 'language', 'publisher', 'tags', 'title', 'title_sort'.

I assume you didn't update the comments with a plugboard because it can contain HTML and hence has to be formatted properly. Did you give any thought to using something like the jacket template for this?
