some kind of softcap for the brightness
hello
![]() i pretty much like my new aura h2o. only one thing bothers me a little: turning on the light without the old on/off-hardware-button was solved better than i expected. sliding the left edge is working nicely, but it makes it quite impossible to turn it to a specific brightness-level without turning pages accidently and such... one has to make sure the slight will not be too short, so that the kobo notices one wants to handle the light and not turn pages or mark text... but doing it this way makes the kobo turn the brightness most likely to 100 % almost all the time... im used to have my brightness-level around 30% maybe 50% to save battery-lifetime. now: would it somehow be possible to declare some kind of soft-cap via the settings? e.g.: i prefer to have it at 30%, so i tell my kobo in the settings: "yes, i know you can go up to 100% with it, but here look i place a second limit at 30%. now, when i turn on my light i do it with a however long slide along the left edge and you will set the bright- ness up to this softcap at 30% and not higher, no matter how retarded and overlong my slide was" would love it ![]() or is there any other way to do this somehow already? |

For me,
I don't use more than 1%. When reading at night, 1% is even too much for me, and I wished I had half the intensity. I am forced to turn on my 0.5-1Watt LED night light, to increase ambient light, not to be blinded by the light of my reader. I have very light-sensitive eyes, and if more people had it, they would probably go blind less fast... My first Kindle paperwhite had much darker settings. I keep my H2O between 0 and 2%. Not a very efficient configuration for me, I'd say... I'd love to be able to put the led light darker. Last edited by ProDigit; 12-04-2015 at 01:51 AM. |
