Looking for mystery/crime...

with a female sleuth. I would prefer something along the lines of Kate Wilhelm and her Barbara Holloway series.

Please no self-published book. I have had my fill of self-published for the year.

Well I was going to suggest the Jack Daniels series by JA Konrath but you said no self-published.

I will second the series. The audio version of them is great!

Weren't a few of them traditionally published prior to him taking his toys back and self-publishing? Or was that other books of his?

I believe you're right.

I think he has about 100 pseudonyms. I think he used one to write an intro to one of his books.

Yes they were.

At Dr Drib,
I can think of 3 pseudonyms off the top of my head.
But that man has so many co-authors and other names that I lose track.

Now on that one if I was looking for new mystery/crime, I would look at his Kindle world and go from there.
But back to the OP doesn't want SP.

I adore Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series but you're probably thinking adult female.

Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone series.

Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series.

Estelle Ryan's Genevieve Lenard series.

James Lee Burke's daughter, Alafair Burke is writing a police detective series called the Ellie Hatcher series.

Margaret Coel's Wind River Reservation series.

I will second all three of these series. Well worth reading.

How about the Nancy Drew series?

Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series, set in Melbourne in the late 20s. Also her contemporary series featuring Corinna Chapman.

I just finished book 10 Fireproof in that series last night. I've enjoyed the series so far.
Kathy Reichs' books are pretty good.
Tess Gerritsen are too.
Elly Griffiths are more cozy, but enjoyable.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I think I will start with the Maggie O'Dell series by Alex Kava. I can see I have a start to a great TBR list for 2016
