e-reader app for a SharePoint site

I have just setup a SharePoint site (using SharePoint 2010), and wanted to know if there are any e-reader apps that can integrate with SharePoint. Also what levels of permission would be needed within the SharePoint site to integrate the app? The hosting provider, cloudappsportal, has different modes with different permission levels and I would like to go for the bare minimum that I will actually need for get the app in and working.

Isn't Sharepoint generally used as a document management system? The company I work for makes extensive use of it, and we certainly don't use any "presentational" aspects of it. When we view a document that's stored on Sharepoint, we access Sharepoint from a web browser, but documents are downloaded and viewed on our own laptops, they aren't displayed by Sharepoint itself. If we open a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet, it's Word or Excel or our laptop that displays the file.

Not always, Harry. Excel and Word document are offered to view inside the web browser (at my company site at least). But yes, it's really a document management system.
