Darg & Drops from Calibre to Directory Opus
Dragging & Dropping files TO Calibre from Directory Opus is not a problem. However, other than using Export from Calibre, it appears that the only way for me to get files into DOpus FROM Calibre is to first drag them to the actual desktop. Thereafter, the files show up in DOpus in the Desktop FOLDER as expected and normal file management operations can take place.
This has always been the case, for as long as I have been using both programs, i.e. a long time. I know there are various workarounds using Calibre functions, and it's not a huge deal, but it is an annoyance when you go to perform a reflex D&D and then have to go via the desktop. I have also posed the question in the DOpus forum as I rather suspect it's a DOpus issue, since Calibre/Explorer has no such issue. I also have no issue between DOpus and any other software I use. Any opinions/suggestions? |

If I click on a book record and drag it into my File Browser or onto the desktop, it works fine. So I agree it is likely a DOpus issue.
It's easy enough though to click "O" -- the shortcut key for opening the ebook's containing folder -- and drag that copy anywhere you like. |

Be SURE you drag a COPY, otherwise you will have made a under the skirt change that will surface at the most inconvenient time

And don't forget that doesn't do the metadata updates that a save to disk does.

OK thanks for the input everyone. I mainly wondered if other DOpus users were experiencing the same problem--as I said, no problems here with Windows Explorer either. I'll leave it to the DOpus guys and keep using Export.
Cheers |

Well, I have the same problem with my DOpus. I have however never felt the need to drag from Calibre to DOpus.

Thanks, @svelind - that pretty much confirms it's a DOpus problem/bug.
I don't often need to use Calibre and DOpus together - but, when I do want to, the fact that I can't is an annoyance more than a crisis. Cheers |
