New kobo glo HD - help
As the title states i just bought a kobo glo hd. Now i already did the micro-sd card exchange to increase memory and the unit is working fine. I just have some questions on a couple points. I am open to rooting the device if it would be required to get the functionality I am looking for but I hope its just me being new to the UI. (just found out yesterday how to delete front page boxes). I use calibre to organize my library, so if something would work using an addon i would be open to that too (thinking of question 3).
1) When reading to advance the pages I tap. Is there a way to use a forward backward swipe instead of having 1 location to tap forward and another to tap backwards? Swiping works for browsing the library so i am unsure why the options doesn't seem to be around for reading. 2) Is it possible to have the front page be static in what it shows instead of having to constantly deleting "just read" or "just opened" collections. For example could I set it up so that the only thing that ever appears, is the currently reading, 2 last opened collections and the library click? I would prefer a more structured and consistent front page than a dynamic front page like the default. 3)I have noticed that the font and the font size seem to be not universal across my ebooks. Is there a way to set a default size and font or is that a problem of my ebooks? For example after setting my font size and style I read a couple of books and looked around at a few more and everything seemed consistent. However I opened the newest book and suddenly the font size was shrunk down drastically is that a result of the ebooks default values? Is there a way to fix this? Or do i have to just adjust each book as I notice this change? Thank you. P.s. i might not post much but i do lurk a lot and and the discussions here helped me decide on the purchase of my new e-reader and I also find alot of good reading recomendations. So thank you again. |

The other thing is how the device stores the font settings. When you change the font settings when reading a book, they are stored in two places. Firstly they are stored in the database for that book. If you close the book and reopen it later, these settings are used. The settings are also stored in the config file. This means they are uses when you open a book that doesn't have individual settings stored. |

Thanks for the replys.
I guess my swipes weren't working at first because i tend to do more of a arc across the corner than a left to right/right to left move. I have adjusted now so works better. By the way what is the name of the utility for Calibre? and where can i get it? Also is there a way to turn off underlining/highlighting on the long push? |
