i86 hdml plus (very) frequent freezes
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I received a couple of weeks ago my i86 and I really want to like the device - the problem is that after reading for some time into a book (be it pdf, epub or any other format), the stock (or any other one) e-reader freezes and the device becomes completely unresponsive . As a result, I have to reboot the device, meaning that I'm also losing the page I was on. Has anyone had the same experience? Best, Theo PS: I emailed e-reader.store de but havent heard from them yet. |

I also get frequent freezes. Many of these are caused by a fouled IR touchscreen. It helps to clean the IR portion of the screen (the interior edges). Or try using the physical page turn buttons. Othertimes, it just freezes up.
Over time the freezes seem to go away on their own. I haven't had a freeze in a couple days now. |

I haven't had this on my machine, but it occurs to me that you could have another program running in the background that is causing the lock ups.
Have you installed other programs on your machine that run continuously? |

Dear all,
Many thanks for your suggestions and advice! @smanoyak: I cleaned up the edges of the screen and will try to use the physical buttons from now on - let's see how it'll work. @randy11: I did use the contact form at the website - no answer so far. As for charging it overnight, I confess that I hadnt. Will leave it to charge in peace over the weekend and will report back. @phogg: I am experiencing the problem even after rebooting and firing up oreader straight away but will keep an eye out for this. Many thanks again - promise to write back if and what solved the problem! Theo |
